Kitat Konenut
Israel’s Civilian Guard

Who They Are
The Kitat Konenut — Israel’s Civilian Guard — is a force of trained volunteers standing between Israeli families and the next attack.
When terror strikes or emergencies unfold, these brave men and women are the first line of defense — often the only defense — until professional forces arrive.
They are farmers. Teachers. Parents. Neighbors.
Ordinary people, doing extraordinary things to protect their communities.

Israel Friends Mission
Israel Friends is committed to equipping, training, and supporting Civilian Guard teams across Israel.
We ensure they have ballistic vests, helmets, radios, drones, thermal cameras, medical kits, armored vehicles, and the tactical training they need to respond immediately.
We deliver life-saving gear directly to the frontlines — to the men and women standing watch over Israel’s homes, schools, synagogues, and families.
Why Civilian Guards Matter
Israel’s enemies are not retreating. The need to defend every community — large and small — is urgent, ongoing, and growing.
Nationwide
Need
Over 400 communities across Israel either need or are actively building Civilian Guard teams today.
First Responders on October 7th
On October 7, 2023, Civilian Guard members were among the first — and often the only — responders protecting towns under terrorist invasion.
Heroes of the South
In many southern communities near Gaza, civilian defenders held the line for hours, saving hundreds of lives before IDF reinforcements could reach them.
Devastating
Gaps
In some towns without civilian defenders, entire communities were massacred or kidnapped.
Growing Threats Across Israel
In the north, near Lebanon, and in Judea and Samaria, the need for trained, equipped civilian guards is now higher than ever.
Thousands Waiting for Gear
Over 25,000 civilians have registered to join local Civilian Guard teams since October 7, 2023 — but thousands are still waiting for equipment and training.
“If it weren’t for the civilian guards at Nir Am, Be’eri, Kissufim, and countless other communities, the death toll on October 7th would have been even more unimaginable. These volunteers fought for hours — holding the line with whatever they had — and gave the IDF the time they needed to arrive. Entire communities are alive today because of their courage. Many civilian guards made the ultimate sacrifice that day, giving their lives to protect others. May their memories forever be a blessing.”
